NASCAR

In September 2009 Athletes for Charity founder and president, Cathleen Laporte, was invited to join in the excitement NASCAR NASCAR Sprint Cup Qualifying and the Degree V12 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series

at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  Cathleen was granted pre-race Pit access which allowed her walk the racetrack for a behind the scenes close up view of the state of the art vehicles and  drivers such as Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and Carl Edwards.

Through Athletes for Charity’s affiliation with NASCAR, its New York staff members have hosted students from the High School of Sports Management in an effort to expose them to the business of motorsports.  During the course of the year, Athletes for Charity has arranged for various foster care youth to attend races in Nashville, TN and Charlotte, NC.  Athletes for Charity aims to continue to team up with NASCAR and a few of its sponsors to continue to offer similar opportunities to youth to attend future races across America.
