On Monday, December 19th 2005, New York
Giants players Reggie Torbor (# 53), Curtis
Deloatch (# 39) and Willie Ponder (# 87) visited
children and adolescents at the Incarnation Children's
Center, located in Harlem, NY, to celebrate the
holiday season with them for the second year in
a row. The players teamed up with one another and
generously purchased and donated iPods
and iTunes gift cards to all of the youths along
with additional gift items from the children's
wish lists donated by Athletes for Charity, Inc. Ponder also
took the time out to assist one of the kids with
his homework and later joined Torbor
and Deloatch in playing board games
with the youths, signing autographs and distributing
NY Giants memorabilia.
The Incarnation Children Center (www.incarnationchildrenscenter.org),
is a skilled nursing facility exclusively for children
and adolescents with HIV/AIDS. It provides specialized
care in a nurturing environment for children and
provides the child and his/her family with an interdisciplinary
service designed to meet the challenges of pediatric
HIV/AIDS and minimize its effects on the quality
of their life.
