September 2, 2006 – Athletes for Charity sponsored  ”Bowl with an Athlete” at Harlem Lanes in Harlem, NY.  The event was hosted by Carlos Emmons of the New York Giants and Victor Hobson of the New York Jets and benefited nearly 100 foster care youth, specifically from Lutheran Social Services Foster Care Programs ( www.lssny.org).   Other professional athletes who participated included Takeo Spikes (Buffalo Bills), Antonio Pierce (NY Giants), Michael Jennings (NY Giants), Will Demps (NY Giants), Frank Walker (NY Giants), Willie Ponder (St. Louis Rams), Adrian Jones (NY Jets), and Smush Parker (LA Lakers).

In addition to free food and beverage, gift bag items filled with goodies donated from Rocawear, Akademiks, Zomba Records, NY Giants and NY Jets were distributed to each of the participating youths. Sent via BlackBerry from Cingular Wireless
