Bucs Game
On Sunday, November 16, 2008, Ryan Sims of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers sponsored 20 area teens to a Bucs game. The youth are all part of the Sigma Beta Club overseen by the Crescent Foundation of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. in Tampa, FL. Ryan Sims is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity which made the planning of this event all the more special for him as it enabled him to team up with his fraternity brothers to benefit distinguished young men of Tampa, FL.
Following the game, the youth were invited to convene at the players reserved Friends and Family area where they had the opportunity to meet a number of Bucs players including Will Allen and Kevin Carter. Immediately there after, Ryan Sims met up and treated the youth and their mentors to dinner at the Hip Hop Soda Shop (www.hiphopsodashop.com). Bucs Safety Will Allen also joined the youth for dinner. Both players shared words of encouragement and indulged in the unique video gaming offered at the venue. The teens had an opportunity to mix and mingle with some of their local sports idols, an opportunity not many teens are commonly afforded.
The Bucs beat the Vikings 19-13.
