Dhani Jones Surprises Children at Orphanage for the Holidays
Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Dhani Jones surprised approximately 100 children at the St. Aloysius Orphanage during their annual Christmas party held on Tuesday, December 18, 2007. The youth were taken by surprise when Jones walked through the doors of the Orphanage. Jones signed autographs and took pictures with the excited fans. The surprise appearance was coordinated by Athletes for Charity in furtherance of their mission to encourage and facilitate athletes in the giving of their time to benefit underprivileged youth.
“When word spread that he was coming to visit, there was a buzz of anticipation," said Darnell Wilson, Director of Development for St. Aloysius Orphanage. "When he arrived, he did not disappoint. In spite of the fact that many of our kids have behavioral problems, Dhani made them feel so comfortable and reminded the children that there are many people in the community who are pulling for them to do their best and achieve great success out of life.”
