"I'm really excited about the work that I've been doing in my hometown of Charleston," he says with great pride. "The fact that I am from Charleston and have succeeded in the NFL and came back means a lot more to the community than I ever thought it would." -Ovie Mughelli
The Ovie Mughelli Project in association with Athletes for Charity proudly presented the 2nd Annual Ovie Mughelli Football Clinic and Educational Workshop from Friday, July 13 – 14, 2007 at the Danny Jones Sports Complex at North Charleston Recreation in Charleston, SC. Over 150 youth between age 10 -17 participated in the free camp hosted by Ovie Mughelli of the Atlanta Falcons.
The first day of the camp included a series of educational workshops, a panel discussion, a Women’s Sports Foundation session for girls, and a question and answer session by Ovie Mughelli. The second day included warm ups followed by offensive and defensive fundamentals broken down by position, seven-on-seven passing drills, and an autograph and awards session.
Camp registration was free and included lunch, a complimentary T-shirt, personalized coaching and an opportunity to interact with Ovie.
“I just wanted to give my thanks for the wonderful camp that was held for the boys and girls. Samuel and Sharrod really enjoyed the camp. Samuel, caught a touchdown pass from behind the back and was looking like Randy Moss, from what i was told. I thought that was really cool! Again, thank you and a special thanks to Mr. Ovie Mughelli for his generosity and kindness!!! GOD BLESS!” Ms. Varn |
