Jamaica Bulldogs:  Fullback Ovie Mughelli mentors and coaches a little league football team

Atlanta Falcons Fullback, Ovie Mughelli spent a day with the Jamaica Bulldogs Youth Football Team in Jamaica, NY on Saturday, April 30, 2007.  With multiple NFL Draft weekend activities taking place throughout the New York City area, Mughelli chose to spend his time mentoring and coaching the little league team of youths ranging in ages of 6 to 16 years old.  Mughelli shared a motivating account of his road to a successful career in the NFL; and encouraged the youths to focus on their education, become leaders and not followers, and most importantly to “listen to your parents and coaches.”  He also emphasized the importance of always having a backup plan in life, stating "If I had not made it to the NFL, I would have followed in my Father's footsteps and become a doctor."  After entertaining questions from the team, Mughelli assisted the youths with a few drills.

Athletes for Charity coordinated the visit with the Jamaica Bulldogs in furtherance of the mission of the Ovie Mughelli Project which aims to support underprivileged youth through education, health and sports initiatives.
